About the Scholarship Fund

The establishment of this Scholarship Fund was proposed as an enduring tribute to the memory of Andy Roewe. It is intended as a perpetual benefit to students of Windthorst High School pursuing a college education and, it is hoped, will grow in both the award amount and the number or recipients. Windthorst High School is part of the Windthorst Independent School District, a public high school serving the city of Windthorst, Texas and surrounding areas.

The Scholarship Fund is organized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so donations are tax deductible. The Scholarship Fund allows no accrual of private benefit to any individual or organization. No part of its net earnings inure to the benefit of any director or officer. The Scholarship Fund does not participate in political campaigning or legislative activities.

Furthermore, the Scholarship Fund has no employees, and no one draws any compensation from the management of it. All the time to administer the Scholarship Fund is volunteered. The Scholarship Fund's overhead is very low, so substantially all donated money goes directly toward the benefit of select Windthorst High School graduates pursing a college education.
